御霊

彼(かれ)のみたまが天国で安らかなることを。

May his soul rest in Heaven.

御霊(みたま)によって生まれるものも、皆そのとおりです。

So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.

肉(にく)によって生まれたものは肉(にく)です。御霊(れい)によって生まれたものは霊(れい)です。

Flesh gives birth to flesh, Spirit gives birth to Spirit.

御霊が鳩のように天(てん)から下(くだる)って、この方(このかた)の上(うえ)にとどまられるのを私(わたし)は見ました。

I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him.
