ディベートとは肯定側(がわ)と否定側(がわ)で交わされる知的ゲームである。

Debate is an academic game between the affirmative and the negative.

このような形(かたち)を二重否定といいますが、結果として肯定を表(あらわす)すこととなります。

This sort of structure is called a double negative, but in effect it shows affirmation.
